The first crucial step for your expansion or renovation projects is the design of your architectural plans, certified by a building technologist in collaboration with architectural technicians, to apply for your renovation permit from your municipality with confidence.

The building technologist can participate in various commercial or industrial projects depending on the type of building, while also adhering to the rule of 3200 square feet or less, which applies in this regard.

This service also includes:

Measurement taken with a high-definition 360-degree camera;

Designing your 2D and 3D plans, including current, preliminary, and final plans;

Conducting load calculations, which involve moving beams and posts and all structural changes within the property;

If necessary, we provide a report at the end of your expansion project, detailing compliance work.


Permit application
Whether it's to transform your home, add a floor, garage, or housing unit, expand, or make any changes to partitions, divisions, or load-bearing walls on your property, you will need a construction permit.
It's for your safety and that of your neighbors that the municipality regulates construction permits, ensuring that your renovation work meets the minimum standards of the Building Code. Additionally, the municipality may ensure the compliance of the work to be done, depending on your zoning regulations.
When your plans and specifications meet the conditions set by your municipality, a construction permit is issued upon submission of your application. Allow for a timeframe of up to 2 months, including adjustments and modifications to your plans, as required by their specific standards.
During the construction process, it's important to prominently display this authorization on your site, as municipal inspectors may visit at any time to ensure that the work is being carried out in accordance with the provided plans.
